TS Dumpsters sizes a container against two limits: how much room the load takes and how much it weighs. Volume decides most household jobs. Weight decides roofing, tile and anything rained on.
Read the dimensions against your driveway rather than against the yardage. The number on the side describes capacity, and capacity is not what stops a container fitting between a fence and a garage. Length and the approach the truck needs are what decide that, and both are on the table below.

What Fits
What Fits in Each Dumpster Size
Each TS Dumpsters container suits a different job size, from a single garage up to a full demolition.
12 Yard Dumpster
The 12 yard handles a one room job. A garage that has not been touched in ten years, yard waste after a storm, or a bathroom stripped back to the studs. At 12' it is the only one short enough to sit on a single car driveway without blocking the sidewalk, which matters more in older neighborhoods than the yardage does.
15 Yard Dumpster
The 15 yard leaves the yard more than any other container. Cabinets, drywall, subfloor and tile go in together. It is the size we carry the most of, so it is usually the one we can get to you soonest. See a 15 yard dumpster in Inverness.
18 Yard Dumpster
The 18 yard exists for a specific problem: jobs too tall for a 15 but not heavy enough to justify a 20. Framing lumber, deck boards, ripped out shelving. Most fleets jump straight from 15 to 20, which means paying for headroom you do not need. The 18 gives you the full 16' floor of the 20 with a lower wall, so debris still goes over the side rather than up.
20 Yard Dumpster
The 20 yard is for demolition and for contractors running a site. It shares the same 16' floor as the 18 but carries walls 5'6" high. That extra height only pays off on light bulky material, because the 2 ton allowance has not moved. See a 20 yard dumpster in The Villages.
Weight
Why Weight Runs Out Before Space Does
Dense debris hits the 2 ton allowance on every TS Dumpsters container long before the box looks full. Shingles, tile, plaster, wet carpet and anything that sat out in the rain are the usual culprits.
Here is the mechanism. A dumpster is billed by what the scale reads at the landfill, not by how much of the box you used. Ceramic tile and plaster are heavy, and carpet that has taken a week of Florida rain can double in weight between Tuesday and Thursday. So a load can top out with the container half empty.
Past the allowance the charge is $80 per ton, which is what the landfill bills us. There is no markup sitting on top of it, and we can provide the scale ticket on request.

Materials
What Goes In and What Stays Out
TS Dumpsters accepts household, renovation and construction debris in every dumpster size, with a short list the landfill will not take.
The refusals are not preferences. Each one is a material the disposal facility handles through its own stream, and a container that arrives with one mixed in gets turned around at the gate. If you are unsure about something, ask before it goes in rather than after.
Goes Straight In
- Household junk and furniture Sofas, carpet, boxes, shelving and the contents of a cleanout.
- Renovation and construction debris Lumber, drywall, trim, cabinets, doors, subfloor and fixtures.
- Yard waste, brush and clean wood Accepted here, which is worth knowing because plenty of haulers refuse it.
- Scrap metal Accepted for an added $75 on the rental.
Never Accepted
- Paints, chemicals and solvents Handled separately by every disposal facility.
- Batteries and tires Both need their own recycling stream.
- Anything holding freon Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners. Refrigerant has to be recovered first and that is federally regulated.
- Hazardous and regulated material Asbestos, medical waste, propane tanks and contaminated soil. The full list is on the rental terms page.
Rental Terms
How Long You Get the Dumpster
Every TS Dumpsters rental runs 7 days, whichever container you take. One term, no size by size math.
Extra days are $25 each, and a call before the week is up rather than after gets it sorted on the phone. Fill it early and we will swap the full container for an empty one, billed as a fresh rental at that size's rate, with the 7 days and the 2 tons both starting again.
Common Question
Do You Rent 30 or 40 Yard Dumpsters?
TS Dumpsters runs the 12, 15, 18 and 20 yard. There is no 30 or 40 yard in the fleet.
Plenty of haulers carry them, so if a 40 yard is genuinely what the job needs, ask elsewhere. For most jobs people ask a 30 yard about, the 20 yard at 16' long is the closer fit, and two swaps on a 20 often beats one oversized container that still caps at the same tonnage.

Dumpster Size FAQs
How much driveway space does a dumpster need?
Every TS Dumpsters container is 7' wide, so width is rarely what stops a delivery. Leave the length of the container plus room behind it for the truck to tilt and roll off, keep the approach straight, and check for low branches and wires. Call if the access is tight and we will tell you before the truck is loaded.
Can I mix furniture with construction debris?
Yes. Mixed loads are normal and cost no extra. The only sorting that matters is keeping the prohibited list out of the container.
What if I pick the wrong size?
Call before the truck is loaded and it is a simple change. Once a container is on your driveway, changing it means a pickup and a second delivery, billed as a swap at that size's rate.
Can I fill it above the top rail?
No. A load above the rail cannot be tarped, which makes it illegal to move on the road and gets it turned away at the scale. If the pile will run over, the answer is a bigger container or a swap.
Is a bigger dumpster always the safer choice?
Not always. A bigger container gives more room and the same 2 tons, so on a heavy load it costs more without solving anything.
