A roofing dumpster rental from TS Dumpsters is a 15 yard container with $80 per ton on the load, across 7 days on site. There is no tonnage allowance built into the price, and no cap on how heavy the load can be.
That is deliberate. A standard rental sells you a fixed allowance and bills the overage, which on a tear off means the allowance is gone before the walls are half full and the invoice ends in an argument about a scale ticket. Pricing the weight instead of the room removes the argument. Whatever comes off the roof, you pay for that and nothing else.

Weight
Why Shingles Break a Standard Rental
TS Dumpsters includes 2 tons in a standard rental because that is roughly what a household load weighs. A tear off is not a household load, and pretending otherwise is how the invoice turns into an argument.
Shingles are dense. A tear off fills the bottom of a container and stops, because the weight runs out long before the room does. Put that load in a container sold with 2 tons included and the allowance is gone on the first pallet, so the entire job gets billed as overage on a box that looks half empty. That is where the scale ticket dispute comes from, every time.
Selling the weight instead of the allowance takes the dispute away. There is nothing to exceed. The container goes on the scale, you pay $80 per ton for what is in it, and the number is the number whether the roof was small or brutal.
The one hard limit left is the top rail. A load above it cannot be tarped, which makes it illegal to move on the road and gets it turned away at the landfill, so a container that will not close is a container that does not leave.

Roofing Dumpster Rental Cost
TS Dumpsters prices a roofing dumpster rental on the weight rather than on an allowance. The rate covers delivery, pickup and 7 days on site, and the weight is billed separately at $80 a ton on the whole load. Call for the current rate on your job.
So the invoice is two lines. The base rate, which you know before the truck leaves, and the scale ticket, which you know the day it comes back. Nothing else moves unless you ask it to.

How a Roofing Container Works on a Tear Off
TS Dumpsters drops the container where the crew wants it and sets it down on wood, so the driveway it sits on for a week comes out the way it went in.
The wood is not an extra. Every container we place goes down on boards, on concrete, on pavers and on stamped drives, and it is not a line on the invoice. On a residential tear off that matters more than it sounds, because the homeowner watching the truck back in is the one deciding whether the crew gets recommended.
Tell us where the fall zone is and the container goes there. Tell us the roof is on the far side of the house and we will put it where the chute lands rather than where the truck stops easiest.
Fill it to the top rail and no further. A load above the rail cannot be tarped, which makes it illegal to move on the road and gets it turned away at the landfill, so a container that will not close is a container that does not leave.

How many squares fit in a roofing dumpster?
It depends on three things and none of them is the yardage. Layer count is the big one, because a tear off down to bare decking on a roof that has been shingled twice puts roughly double the material in the container. Shingle type is the second, since architectural weighs more per square than three tab. Age is the third, because an old roof that has taken years of Florida rain is heavier than the same roof was new. Call with the square count and the layer count and we will tell you how many drops it takes.
Why is the roofing container priced differently?
Because the base rate is not buying tonnage. A standard rental bundles 2 tons into the price, so the number is higher and the allowance is built in. This one prices the delivery, the week and the pickup, and puts the weight on its own line. Same steel either way.
Am I charged for weight on this container?
Yes, on every ton. $80 per ton on the whole load, weighed at the landfill, with no allowance included and no ceiling. That is the point of it. A tear off is dense enough that any allowance disappears immediately, and billing the actual weight is the only version that does not end in a dispute about a scale ticket.
Is there a limit on how heavy the load can be?
No. We will not refuse a heavy container or turn one away for weight, which is the part roofers usually care about. The only hard limit is the top rail, because a load above it cannot be tarped and cannot legally go on the road.
How do I know what the job will cost before I quote it?
